文法用語の比較級や最上級の場合には、the comparativeや the superlative のように定冠詞 the を前に付けて使われるようです。

「魚の骨が喉に刺さった」は英語で言うと I got a fishbone stuck in my throat. でいいんですね。 この中のstuckは、『刺す、突き刺す』の意味の動詞 stickの過去分詞形です。

正直、意味の差はよくわからないのですが、まあ似たような意味であることは確かです。
こういう類義語はみんなまとめて覚えてしまえば、その方がお得で、 かえって覚えやすいかもしれません。 Killing two birds with one stone = 一石二鳥ならぬ、 Killing four birds with one stone = 一石四鳥じゃないでしょうか。
