『見頃、見ごろ』を英語で the best time to see (view) と言えます。
素直にそのままの訳という感じですね。
この表現は花だけでなく、紅葉とかでも使えます。
例えば
The best time to see cherry blossoms in this area is usually from late March to early April.
「この地域での桜の見ごろは、ふつう3月下旬から4月上旬です。」
花に限れば『見ごろ』は『開花のピーク』とほぼ同じ意味ですから、
peak bloom のように言うこともできます。
また、「桜が見ごろです」は
Cherry blossoms are at their best.
Cherry trees are in full bloom.
のようにも表現できます。
上の写真は数日前に撮ったもので、まだつぼみがあって8分咲きでした。
「この週末が桜の見ごろだと思うのですが、あいにく天気は良くないです。」
I think this weekend is the best time to see the cherry blossoms, but unfortunately the weather is not good.
桜が咲くころ、雨が降るのもよくあることですけど。
