英語で『麻酔』は anesthesia なので
『局部麻酔』が local anesthesiaで、
『全身麻酔』が general anesthesia です。

anesthetic が形容詞だと『麻酔の』ですが、名詞で『麻酔剤』の意味にもなります。
動詞の anesthetize が『麻酔する』です。

Local anesthesia will be used for the upcoming gastric examination.
「今度の胃の検査では、局部麻酔が使われます」

そうなのさ。なんか検査、不安なんだけど・・・。
