Oxfordの辞書での説明では dilly-dally to take too long to do something, go somewhere or make a decision 「何かをしたり、どこかに行ったり、決定を下したりするのにに時間がかかりすぎること」となっていました。（口語的で旧式の表現らしいですが）
この意味からすると『だらだらする』という日本語でもいいかもしれませんね。ちょっと音も似てますし。
使ってみましょう。 Don’t dilly-dally. You only do is wasting time. 「ぐずぐずするな。君は時間を無駄にしているだけだ。」
でもまあ、書くのなら誤解はされにくいので、ここではあえてheartful とhurtfulを合わせて使ってみましょう。 He said heartful words, but she took them as hurtful. 「彼は心のこもった言葉を発したが、彼女はそれを傷つける言葉として受け止めた。」 ちなみにこの文も He said heartfelt words, but she took them as hurtful. の方が普通かもしれません。
答えは stone です。（石のstone と同じです。） stone は『ウメ・モモなどの果実の中の核（堅い内果皮に包まれた部分）』のことです。 日本語ではこの核のことを普通「種」と呼んでいます。 ですが、植物学的な意味での本当の「種子」は、核の殻の中にあるのだそうです。英語では、この辺を分けた呼び方になっているということですね。
ちなみに、このような核が中にあるタイプの果実を『核果』と呼ぶそうで、 これは英語で stone fruits となります。
英作文に使ってみましょう。 Umeboshi are made by pickling whole ume-plums containing those stones inside. 「梅干しは、種が入った丸ごとの梅の実を漬けて作られます。」

「溺れる者は藁（わら）をもつかむ」という諺がありますが、 この英語バージョンは a drowning man will grasp at straws a drowning man will clutch (catch) at a straw とかだそうです。
Cambridge の辞書での説明は a drowning man will clutch at a straw said about someone who is in a very difficult situation, and who will take any available opportunity to improve it 溺れる者は藁をもつかむ 「非常に困難な状況にある人が、それを改善するために可能な限りの機会を手に入れること」となっていました。
drowning manは「溺れてる人」、straw は『藁、わら』で grasp at 、 clutch atあるいは catch atは『（…を）つかもうとする』の意味になります。
GRAMMARISTというサイトの説明には The expression sticky fingers came into use in the mid-1800s and calls to mind an image of paper money sticking to someone’s fingers, as if the criminal weren’t really planning to steal. 「sticky fingersという表現は1800年代半ばに使われるようになり、紙幣が指にくっつき、まるで犯人が本当に盗むつもりがなかったかのようなイメージを思い起こさせる。」と書いてありました。
Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionaryでの定義は toss-up a situation in which either of two choices, results, etc. is equally possible 「2つの選択肢、結果などのうち、どちらも同等の可能性である状況」 だそうです。
使ってみましょう。 ‘Have you decided which wire to cut?’ ‘No! It’s a toss-up between the red and the blue.’ 「どっちのワイヤーを切るか決めたか？」うか 「まだだ。赤か青かまるで予測できない。」
Wiktionaryの説明では Backache of the lumbar region or lower back, which can be caused by muscle strain or a slipped disc. 「筋肉疲労や椎間板ヘルニアなどが原因で起こる背中の下部や腰部で起こる痛み」 だそうです。
