英語で「歯石を除去する」は
remove dental calculus from the teeth
remove scale (from teeth)
remove tartar from someone’s teeth
などのように言うようです。
『歯石』は dental calculus 、 scale や tartar になります。
例えば
The dentist expertly removed the tartar.
「その歯科医は手際よく歯石を除去した」
のように使えます。
I go to the dentist on Thursday to have my tartar removed.
「木曜日に歯石を除去してもらうために歯医者に行く」
これは実話です。
もう少し、ふだんから歯磨きをちゃんとしとけばよかったんですが。
